Day 4: My painting of Karin Jurick for the Thank You Project

This is the image of Karin Jurick that I painted for the Karin Jurick Thank You Project. 118 fabulous painters, pastelers, charcoalers, pencilers drew their version of Karin from the same photograph that was supplied to them.  This is my version. Would love to meet this lovely lady sometime, when next I'm in Georgia. We're all wishing Karin "big luck" for her show in March.

  4. Hello Jill,
I don't know how you even begun to coordinate such a task in pulling us all together to thank Karin, but I'm glad you did. The collection of 118 portraits is amazing, thank you for including me. Your watercolor painting is fresh and spontaneous and just beautiful!

  5. Jill - What a wonderful gesture and thank you for the effort of pulling this all together. It is such great fun to have the "gang" pulled back together again and I'm so happy to be part of it. Maybe you should continue your blog as "friends of Karin". Your portrait is lovely, as was the one in the last portrait exercise. I like your style!

  17. For those of you who don't know Jill, she is a "paint-mate" of mine and one of the most generous, inspirational, kind, talented....I could go on and on.....people I know. We call her our "Cheerleader" in class because she is always getting us to do things we "think" we can't. She has grown in leaps and bounds as a watercolorist with her wonderful portrait works. So....I say "Hurray" to you Jill! I'm so lucky to call her my friend.

  19. Hi Jill: That's is a nice portrait. I don't know how Karin looks like. Where can I find her photo? I just know I like her and her art so much. It was only by chance that I discovered her less than a year ago. It was a great idea to have organized the painting of Karin's portrait. I wish I had known it earlier to participate.
